HGV 2 Driver

Gotpeople is currently recruiting an experienced HGV Class 2 Delivery Driver to join our client based in Hemel Hempstead. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-established, reputable company offering consistent weekday shifts.

Position Overview

As an HGV Class 2 Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods, providing exceptional customer service throughout. This role involves multi-drop deliveries and manual handling, including unloading.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver goods safely and efficiently to customers
• Assist with unloading pallets
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly
• Ensure all deliveries comply with company policies and procedures
• Maintain a high standard of customer service when interacting with clients
• Adhere to all relevant driver hours and road safety regulations

Candidate Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence – 18 months driving experience
• Possession of a full CPC and a digital tachograph card
• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence (excluding DR, DD or IN endorsements)
• Comfortable with manual handling and lifting bulky items
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Reliable, with the ability to work safely and adhere to delivery schedules
• appropriate PPE (high-visibility clothing and safety boots)

Pay & Benefits

• £21.12 per hour PAYE
• Minimum of 8 hours guaranteed pay per shift
• 7 days a week operation so will be added to a rota
• Start times from 14.00 – 18.00
• Free on-site parking
• Driver assessment and induction required prior to commencement
