HGV 2 Driver

Gotpeople is seeking a skilled HGV Class 2 Delivery Driver to join our client’s team based in Hemel Hempstead. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a well-established, reputable company offering consistent shifts.

Position Overview

As an HGV Class 2 Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and punctual delivery of goods while providing exceptional customer service. The role involves multi-drop deliveries and manual handling, including unloading.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete all required assessments and training
• Deliver goods safely and efficiently to customers
• Unload cages into stores, involving physical activity
• Perform multi-drop deliveries across London and the South East
• Follow allocated routes and participate in a rota system
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and promptly report any defects
• Ensure all deliveries comply with company policies and procedures
• Maintain a high standard of customer service when engaging with clients
• Adhere to all relevant driver hours and road safety regulations

Candidate Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence with a minimum of 18 months’ driving experience
• Possession of a full CPC and a digital tachograph card
• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence (excluding DR, DD or IN endorsements)
• Comfortable with manual handling and lifting bulky items
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Reliable, with the ability to work safely and meet delivery schedules
• Willingness to wear appropriate PPE (high-visibility clothing and safety boots)

Pay & Benefits

• £21.12 per hour PAYE
• Guaranteed minimum of 8 hours’
